President upbeat about consensus among parties

POKHARA, Dec 1: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Saturday expressed his belief that political parties would forge consensus on the name of prime ministerial candidate for the national consensus government within the extended deadline.



“I am confident that problems would end within seven days,” said, President Yadav inaugurating the fourth National Aids Conference here today.[break]



“My role is to press the leaders for the consensus and I have also urged them to do so,” president added.



He further said that political parties should not do any further delay to forge consensus as the government as well as the opposition parties are ready for the new election in July next year.



President Ram Baran Yadav on Thursday extended the deadline given to the parties by one more week to nominate a consensus prime ministerial candidate by seven days as demanded by leaders from the major political parties.



Earlier on November 23,  President Yadav had called on the political parties to nominate a prime ministerial candidate through consensus and come up with an appropriate proposal to form a new government within the seven days.
