KATHMANDU, April 13: UCPN (Maoist) Spokesperson Agni Sapkota on Saturday said that the government should give clarifications as to why it is not possible to hold Constituent Assembly (CA) election in mid-June.

Speaking to media persons at the party head office, he also urged the government to announce election date without any delay. Claiming that the election could be held in mid-June, he said that the election can be deferred only if the situation goes out of control. [break]

“The government should announce election date as soon as possible,” said Sapkota. He also accused the government and the Election Commission of not working seriously toward holding CA election in mid-June.

“The Election Commission is also trying to avoid election,” added Sapkota. He also claimed that the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) are not in favor of election in the mid-June.
