The amount was raised with the contributions from Gurung´s colleagues in England under leadership of Durga Bahadur Pun, the president of Intake 06 Brigade of Gurkhas.
Gurung´s colleagues handed over the check to Club´s President Thaman Babadur Thapa on Sunday.
According to Kiran Singh Pariyar, one of the colleagues of Gurung, they were saddened by the untimely demise of Gurung and had decided to support the club keeping in view his love towards football.
"He was very interested in football and we decided to support the club of our own locality. We will continue our support in future as well and are also planning to establish scholarships in his name to support poor and orphaned children," Pariyar said.
"We will conduct a football tournament each year in Gurung´s memory. Though we will organize Seven-A-Side football in the initial years, we will conduct bigger tournaments in future," said the club´s Secretary Sammar Bahadur Shrestha.
Meanwhile, national football team members Bijay Gurung and Sabindra Shrestha and Santosh Shrestha, a member of the British Army national team, were also honored on the occasion.
