KATHMANDU, May 14: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has refuted news reports that he was doing homework on extending the term of the Constituent Assembly (CA), saying he does not want yet another extension beyond May 28.

"There will be consensus on federalism in two to three days and the constitution will be promulgated on May 27," Bhattarai said at a tea party hosted by the Maoist-aligned All Nepal National Independent Students´ Union (Revolutionary) on Monday.

The prime minister´s remarks come a day after media reported, quoting his principal advisor Devendra Paudel, that the prime minister was doing homework for CA term extension.

Bhattarai said timely constitution would be possible only by forging consensus among political parties, not through voting in the CA.
