Parties have no alternative to consensus: Mahara

ROLPA, March 4: Unified CPN (Maoist) central member Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said the major political parties prefer Chief Justice (CJ)-led election government to resolve existing constitutional and political crisis.



Inaugurating the first anniversary of the Sun Star Youth Club here in Rolpa, he claimed that the major political parties have resolved 80/90 per cent issues so far. The Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), and Unified Democratic Madheshi Front are bound to come to come consensus as the CJ-led election government could be free and fair.[break]



"All the disputed issues would be finalized soon as the political parties are positive for forming the CJ-led election government though they have different of opinion regarding the formation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Commission on the Disappeared, and voter´s list," said UCPN-Maoist Mahara. He expressed his confidence that the issues would be resolved soon.



Mahara, who is also the former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, stressed that the youth should be loyal to the country and they should be used in the creative activities instead of out migration.
