According to the police, promotional materials posted in public places, on electric poles, walls and government structures are considered to be against the election code of conduct.

Ganesh Bahadur Bam, spokesperson for the District Police Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police, said that during the monitoring it was found the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) had violated the code of conduct, most placing such materials against the election code of conduct.

He stated that regular monitoring is ongoing as the Election Office has also issued a warning that legal action may be taken against parties and candidates who do not follow the code of conduct.

In this backdrop, the local administration, police and other concerned bodies have urged all parties to be responsible to ensure free, fair and credible elections.

The local administration has made it clear that it will continue monitoring in the coming days and will take strict action if violations are repeated.
