Opinion collection campaign suspended in midwest

NEPALGUNJ, March 8: Constituent Assembly (CA) members, who arrived here for collecting suggestions from the public on the new constiution have suspended the suggestions collection campaign in view of the disturbances in the Tarai. Much of the Tarai remains shut for the past seven days due to protests by indigenous Tharu who are against the listing of the community under Madhesi category.



The CA members were scheduled to visit the villages in Dang, Banke and Bardiya, among other mid-western districts. They are currently stationed at the district headquarters.
