Madan Bahadur Pulami Magar, 46, of Bhalayadanda-3, Udaypur, has been arrested with 63 kgs of marijuana on Sunday morning. [break]
According to the police, the smugglers were taking the contraband to India from Udaypur. The rest of the drug peddlers managed to run away except Magar, Khagendra Khadka, inspector at the ward police office, Lahan said.
The drug peddlers are from Udaypur, Saptari, Lahan and one is an Indian national, police said.
Talking to the media, Magar said, "I take Rs 75 per kg to carry marijuana to India. Nothing happens to those who are mainly responsible for smuggling, but the people like me who just have to carry it to feed our family get caught."
Police are investigating the case.
