KATHMANDU, March 28: CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli was admitted to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on Saturday. He was taken to the hospital for a health check-up and, following doctors’ advice, has been placed under observation.
According to the Kathmandu District Police Range, an initial health examination after his arrest found that Oli required further treatment and monitoring, prompting his admission. He has been kept in Bed 501 of the special ward at the Annex One building of the hospital.
PM Oli admitted to TU Teaching Hospital for kidney transplant
Hospital sources said that after tests, including blood work and video X-rays, doctors recommended his admission. Given his medical history, including a previous kidney transplant, he is being kept under close medical supervision.
Oli, along with former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, was detained earlier on Saturday as part of the implementation of recommendations made by a probe commission formed to investigate incidents related to the Gen Z movement.
The newly formed government under Rastriya Swatantra Party leader Balendra Shah decided on Friday to immediately enforce the commission’s report, paving the way for the arrests.
