KATHMANDU, Jan 15: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Tuesday asked the political leaders to act promptly for consensus and made it clear that he will not extend the deadline the formation of consensus government anymore.

“Come to me forging consensus in next seven days. I will not extend the deadline, again,” CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal quoted the president as telling the leaders of the parties represented in the erstwhile Constituent Assembly during a meeting in Shital Niwas this morning. [break]

After the parties persistently failed to forge consensus, the president has already extended the deadline nine times after he formally called upon the parties in November last year to name their unanimous candidate to lead unity government. The deadline last expired on Monday.
