"Dissolving the CA is out of question. The assembly has specific mandate of concluding the peace process and drafting new constitution. Its fate cannot be altered until the mandate is fulfilled," said Khanal. "This is a wish of the people as well," he added.
Khanal while inaugurating the 45th annual general meeting of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in Kathmandu admitted that the parties have failed to manage transition in proper manner.
PM Khanal said a special sub-committee is also working out a modality for integrating the Maoist combatants and the constitution drafting process is moving ahead steadily.
Although he did not mention whether the CA will be able to complete constitution drafting by May 28, he said that the country is in the final stage of political transition.
"We are discussing contentious issues pertaining to the constitution at formal and informal forums. The only priority of the present government is to get the issues resolved," Khanal stated.
Khanal at the function attended by businessmen said FNCCI as an apex business body can play a vital role in building understanding for early conclusion of peace process.
Earlier, business community had expressed serious concerns over the killings of businessmen, extortions and deteriorating law and order situation in the country. Responding to them, the prime minister said, "My government inherited a poor law and order situation [from the previous government]. Nonetheless, we are working to revamp security measures."
