Interacting with media in Birgunj on Wednesday, Mahato said the protests would not be border-centric as their last protests only troubled the general people while failing to pressurize the government. The upcoming protests in mid-April would not affect people, according to him.
"Currently we're busy in the preparations for the upcoming protest programs, which will be Singha Durbar-centric and affect the government much," he said.
Mahato clarified that the Madhes movement has neither had its miscarriage nor has it ended; but its nature has changed.
The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has recently decided about the new modality of its protest.
"Despite UDMF's utmost flexibility, the government seems to have failed to address the issue of Madhes," he said. "But the next round of protests will be decisive in getting the Madhes issues resolved."
According to him, UDMF leaders are currently engaged in building the alliance's strength through awareness campaign from Mechi to Mahakali.
He also criticized the government for terming the recent advice of European Union as interference.
Mahato also claimed that all the constituents of UDMF stand together and that there was no dispute among them.
