In Nepal, the number of Christians, which was 100,000 in 2001, increased to over 550,000 in the 2021 census. However, Christians claim the number is actually more than 2 million.
Earlier in the day, the Parliamentary Hearing Committee had unanimously endorsed Sharma’s nomination following a recommendation by the Constitutional Council.
