Nepali impressive run continues in chess

KATHMANDU, July 28: Nepali players dominated the second and third round matches of the ongoing Nepal-Assam (Lions Kamarupa Academy) Friendly Chess Tournament as Nepal accumulated 12.5 points out of 16 points on Tuesday held at the 23 no ward office of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Lagan. [break]



Nepali players, Vividh Pratap Singh, Prashant Thapa, Sanjay Awal and Success Shrestha won both the matches of the day. Vividh came up with impressive performance as he defeated Avinavh Pathari in the 45th move in the second round match and in third round he eased past Dewasi Goswami in the fourth move.



Likewise, Prasant beat Dewasi Goswami and Jyotimoi Goswami each in 26th move respectively and Sanjay beat Jyotimoi and Mohit Jain. Success defeated Pravabh Kumar Agrawal and Subham Jain. Similarly Bijayraj Aryal beat Ruchit Chauhan in the second round. Later in the third round his substitute Grishma Gautam played a draw to Avinav Parthari.



With the completion of the third round match, Nepal has added 18.5 points while Assam has 5.5 points in their account out of total 64 points.
