Nepal urges to rein in Maoist

DHANGADHI, April 3: CPN-UML leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said the Unified CPN (Maoist) should be pressurized to expedite the constitution writing process and take the peace process to its logical conclusion.



Speaking at a press meet on Sunday in Dhangadhi, he said public should exert pressure to the Maoist party to make it more responsible toward the peace process.[break]



He suggested Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal to work by keeping Maoists under control not by pampering them.



The UML leader Nepal said PM Khanal should move ahead by giving responsibility of the Home Ministry to other leaders adding that the latest bomb explosion and criminal activities appeared in the country have created challenges to the government.



He said a national consensus government is still necessary to complete the peace process and constitution writing.
