NC prez for CA poll on slated date

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has expressed belief that all political parties would finally embrace the Constituent Assembly election, as they would realize that deferral of the November 19 election was an invitation to bigger political crisis.



Receiving a memorandum submitted by the Reporters´ Club at his residence, Maharajgunj, on Wednesday, President Koirala said that the CA election was the only option to rid the country from political and constitutional crisis. So, the big parties would finally bring the dissenting parties, including the CPN-Maoist, in the electoral process.[break]



Also the coordinator of the high-level political committee, President Koirala said the HLPC has not been fazed at all in seeking support of all parties for the CA election.



"November 19 CA election is inevitable; none can thwart it," he reiterated.



For the stable democracy, all parties need to go for the election and write new constitution, he said, expressing hope that Maoist leader Mohan Baidya would not boycott election but become flexible to solve problems for holding the election.
