NC President Thapa votes, says election essential to bring the Constitution back on track

He also thanked the government for successfully conducting the election. The NC has projected Thapa as a future prime ministerial candidate.

KATHMANDU, March 5: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa, a candidate from Sarlahi-4, cast his vote from Maitidevi in Kathmandu.



Speaking briefly after voting, Thapa said the mandate from this election will shape the country’s governance roadmap for the next five years.

“There was a fear that once the constitution goes off the track, political uncertainty may continue for a long time. That is why this election was necessary to bring the constitution back on track,” he said. “Despite uncertainty about whether the election would be held, voting is taking place peacefully across the country.”


He also thanked the government for successfully conducting the election. The NC has projected Thapa as a future prime ministerial candidate.
