BHAKTAPUR, Aug 22: Central member of the Nepali Congress, Narayan Khadka, has said that the NC is not in favor of extending the tenure of the Constituent Assembly (CA) again if concrete agreement was not forged among the political parties prior to August 31.

Speaking at an interaction in Bhaktapur on Monday, leader Khadka said there are still chances for the formation of the national consensus government as efforts are underway in this regard. [break]

He added a majority government can be given a shape of national consensus one on the basis of consensus if the consensus government was not formed this moment.

Khadka said agreement should be done in package among the parties as there is no guarantee of completion of the peace process and promulgation of the constitution after the formation of the national consensus government as well.

He further said that Maoist leadership was acceptable to the NC if the Maoist party builds environment of trust.
