CHITWAN, March 9: Nepali Congress leader Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has stressed on the need of forming a national unity government to expedite new constitution writing process.

Talking briefly to media persons at Bharatpur today, leader Mahat said the ruling parties should not hesitate to form the all-party government if power sharing is the inner wish of the opposition alliance.

He said the people have participated in the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections for twice to promulgate the new constitution and expressed the view that power sharing would play crucial role to be committed in constitution writing.

The NC leader said, "There is no vast difference among political parties regarding the issues of the new constitution. The parties including the UCPN (Maoist) should join the government for the guarantee of promulgation of new constitution through consensus."

Mahat said, "The new constitution will be promulgated even through process if consensus is not reached to this effect. So there is no alternative to political parties to go together."

He expressed the view that party leaders should carry out survey to know people's verdict to remove the dispute surfaced on the issue of federalism.
