Narayan Gopal Youth Music prize to Pant, Acharya

KATHMANDU, Dec. 6: The Narayan Gopal Youth Music Prize for this year is to be awarded jointly to singers Anju Pant and Swaroop Raj Acharya.



The prize founded by the National Youth Service Trust has been awarded to the singer duo for their contribution to the progress and uplift of Nepali folk, modern and indigenous music.



The decision to that end was taken by a meeting on Thursday of the Prize Selection Committee chaired by senior musician Dipak Jungam.



Likewise, the Araniko Youth Art Prize is to be presented jointly to artist duo Indra Khatri and Sanjaya Bantawa for their laudable contribution in the field of modern and indigenous art and sculpture art.



Both the prizes carry a purse of Rs. 50,000, a gold medal and letter of appreciation.
