Motorable bridge improves Korala Border access

Constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 7.545 million, the 8.5-metre-long bridge connects Wards 1 and 2 of Lomanthang Rural Municipality. According to the rural municipality, the bridge has also improved access to Niphuk Monastery, Zhong Cave, and Garphu Monastery.

MUSTANG, July 9: A new motorable bridge built over the Chhorten Chho Stream in Lomanthang Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 has come into operation.



Constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 7.545 million, the 8.5-metre-long bridge connects Wards 1 and 2 of Lomanthang Rural Municipality. According to the rural municipality, the bridge has also improved access to Niphuk Monastery, Zhong Cave, and Garphu Monastery.

Chief Administrative Officer Newton Lamsal said the bridge has made travel easier for local residents.


The bridge is also expected to improve access for tourists visiting the Korala Border Crossing.


Chairperson of Lomanthang Rural Municipality Tashi Norbu Gurung inaugurated the newly constructed bridge on Wednesday.
