More than 2 dozen cases of corruption recommended to CIAA

BARDIBAS, Aug 12: Local administration in Mahottari district has recommended more than two dozen cases related to financial irregularities to the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) for necessary action.



The District Administration Office, Mahottari, said that out of 41 complaints of corruption filed at the CIAA, National Awareness Centre and Ministry of Home Affairs in the last fiscal year, 25 complaints have been recommended to the CIAA. [break]



Serious investigation into the remaining 16 cases of corruption is underway, according to the Office.Before this, the Office had recommended five VDC Secretaries of the district to the CIAA for necessary action.



According to Chief District Officer, Pradeepraj Kandel, preliminary investigation of more than 50 corruption cases of old files during the four months of 2069 BS was concluded.



The Local Administration said that out of the complaints filed asking for action, most of them are against District Development Committee, District Technical Office, Sagarnath Forest Development Project, Soil Reform Office, VDCs and Women and Children Office in the district.
