The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has forwarded the proposal to the cabinet for approval of the holiday from Ghatasthapana to Kojagrat Purnima which marks start and end of the 14-day Dashain festival to cope with the energy crisis.
MoHA Spokesperson Laxmi Prasad Dhakal said the ministry has also proposed providing fuel to be consumed by government vehicles to public vehicles after commencement of holiday.

A cabinet meeting scheduled for Thursday afternoon will take decision on the proposal.
“Preparations are underway to provide fuel to public vehicles to make sure that people can easily leave Kathmandu for home,” he said.
Generally, there is public holiday for six days during Dashain festival.
