KATHMANDU, March 27: The grand finale of Miss Nepal-2015 will be held at Hotel de l' Annapurna on April 17 next month.
The training session of Miss Nepal-2015 has begun at the main office of the organizer, The Hidden Treasure Pvt.Ltd, in Kupondole, Lalitpur.
Currently, 19 contestants, selected from 135 applicants, are undergoing various trainings.
Priya Rani Lama is one of the contestants for this year's Miss Nepal competition. Lama had also contested the 2010 edition of Miss Nepal event where she had won the Miss Beautiful Complexion title. The 24-old, first runner up at the Miss Purbanchal-2010 event, is desperate to win this year's Miss Nepal crown.
"Miss Nepal is a good platform. Failure to secure crown is not the end of life. One may gain numerous good tips from this platform whatever the outcome of the competition would be," Lama said.
Lama had also worked as the choreographer of the 2011 edition of the Miss Purbanchal beauty pageant.
Miss UK-2012, Durga Gurung is another contestant for the Miss Nepal 2015. She arrived here all the way from London to participate the competition. Gurung, a classical music lover, represents Pokhara for the event. According to her, the Miss Nepal event has provided a platform to demonstrate one's talent and encouraged her to engage in the social service though she is from fashion industry.
Medha Koirala, who had successfully showcased her theater talent, is also participating in the Miss Nepal 2015. Koirala, 20, had also participated previous event of Miss Nepal.
"I am here for winning Miss Nepal crown. Besides this, I expect that training sessions would help on development of personality", she said.
Model Divyata Baidhya is another contestant for this year's Miss Nepal. She says that she encouraged toward the pageant as she has been getting important tips through the trainings which would even be useful for the modeling profession.
Another contestant Sonu Thapa Magar is also excited toward the event as she has been immensely benefitted from the training session of the Miss Nepal competition. "I felt that my self-confidence has immensely boosted from this," she added.
This is the 20th edition of Miss Nepal competition going to be organized by The Hidden Treasure. The 19 contestants are Medha Koirala, Rebika Chhetri, Sristi Bhattarai, Puja Shrestha, Priyarani Lama, Sujata Khanal, Rita KC, Sonu Thapa Magar, Anu Khadka, Sudipa Pathak, Nishma Chaudhary, Dibyata Baidhya, Prashansha Parajuli, Evana Manandhar, Durga Gurung, Asina Poudel, Kripa Neupane, Sreya Poudyal and Nuning Limbu from various districts including Lalitpur, Tanahun, Siraha, Rupandehi, Kaski, Rupandehi, Jhapa, Chitwan and Sunsari.
Choreographer Rachana Gurung has been conducting trainings to the contestants. Former Miss Nepal Sweta Singh, Malvika Subba, Priti Sitaula, Sadikshya Shrestha Malina Joshi, Sristi Shrestha, Ishani Shrestha and Subina Limbu are also conducting the trainings to the contestants.
The winner of this year's Miss Nepal event will win the prize money of Rs 100,000 along with the brand ambassador of the WWF. The First runner up will receive Rs 60,000 while 2nd runner up will be getting Rs 40,000.
The Hidden Treasure had conducted auditions to pick the finalist contestants at five major cities; Kathmandu , Biratnagar, Chitwan, Butwal and Pokhara to find the contestants.
