Speaking at a farewell programme organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications, outgoing Minister Pokhrel said there was not any dispute between the administrative and political leadership in his ministry during his stint.
Also a Spokesperson of the government, Minister Pokhrel said the government did pro-people activities and the new government should continue these.
He suggested for formulating a new advertisement policy, managing the frequency, implementing the agreements made with the Telecom and extending the optical fiber through the rural telecommunications fund.
Similarly, he pointed out the need to promote the marketing of National News Agency (RSS) services, protect Radio Nepal from economic crisis, make effective the Nepal Television news, keep the Gorkhapatra out of political influence, make the Press Council Nepal a regulating body, take ahead the postal service with new programmes, and to equip Nepal Telecom with modern technology.
Minister Pokhrel further claimed, "Issues as distribution of public welfare advertisements and minimum remuneration have been addressed."
He thanked all employees in the ministry for providing support to him.
Ministry Secretary Sushil Ghimire also said the Ministry did notable deeds during last 20 months in the sector of information and communications.
