Milestone for Dravid, India reaches 172-2 at tea

MUMBAI, India , Nov 24: Rahul Dravid became the second batsman to score 13,000 test runs as India reached 172-2 at tea on the third day of the third and final cricket test against the West Indies on Thursday.



Dravid was batting on 52 with test cricket´s leading scorer Sachin Tendulkar on 20 as India made steady progress in reply to the West Indies´ first innings score of 590. [break]



Dravid reached the milestone with a cover-driven four off pace bowler Darren Sammy to move from 19 to 23.



Dravid has so far struck six fours off 109 deliveries. Openers Gautam Gambhir chipped in with 55 and Virender Sehwag made 37.



The West Indies, resuming at 575-9, batted for 15 minutes this morning before offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin (5-156) ended its innings.
