KATHMANDU, Aug 9: MBS first year students on Sunday boycotted their annual exams at all major centers in Kathmandu, demanding a reschedule. They deserted the exam halls and tore off the question papers saying that the questions were out of syllabus.

Meanwhile, a clash between the protesting students and police at Exam Controller´s Office, Balkhu, left the area tense. Four policemen were injured from stones hurled by students who vandalized the controller´s office. Police fired some tear-gas shells to contain the mob. Fifteen students were detained.
