Maoists to make sixth plenum extensive

KATHMANDU, June 8: The UCPN-Maoist has decided to make its up coming 6th plenum of the party.



Party Chairman Pushapa kamal Dahal directed for making the plenum more extensive at a joint meeting of the central members of the party´s Newa and Tamsaling State Committees at the party´s Central Office at Koteswor.



Quoting Dahal´s direction, party Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha said decision has been made to make it more extensive to press for a constitution with federalism and federalism with identity.



He also said as the constitution could not be made from Constituent Assembly because of anti-federalist activities, it was decided to take to the people for exposing them.



UCPN-Maoist has proposed its six plenum on the same day as the Mohan Baidya faction of the party has called a gathering on June 15.



The party has also directed its central members to create opinion in favor of federalism in each and every house of the people by not taking the June 15 rally lightly.



On the occasion, party vice chairman and Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai also put forward his views on the latest political developments saying the latest decision of the party and government was correct and directed to make November 22 elections successful.



More than three dozen leaders and workers of three districts under the Newa and nine districts under Tamsaling state committees were present in the meeting.



The meeting also discussed rally of the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and other fringe parties to be held today.
