The Maoists´ Rastriya Janaandolan Samiti has issued letters to industrialists seeking donation without mentioning the amount in writing but the businessmen said the Maoists have been verbally fixing the amount.
Chairman of Seti Zone Nepal Medicine Entrepreneurs´ Association Gaya Prasad Sharma said the Maoists are asking anywhere between Rs 100,000 and Rs 15 million. The association held an emergency meeting Sunday to discuss the matter.
He said they have demanded Rs 1 million from him and warned that even 12,000 people can be can be killed in a single day during their Janaandolan. He said the Maoists have asked Rs 15 million from Dinesh Pharmacy. He said the Maoists have planned to extort Rs 250 million from Seti and Mahakali zones alone.
