KATHMANDU, Sept 6: United Madhesi Students´ Front (UMSF) on Sunday urged Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) to end House obstruction to pave way for amendment to the interim constitution.

The student wings of five Madhes-based parties made the request in the wake of government stripping of state privileges to Parmananda Jha after he declined to take fresh oath for the post of vice president in Nepali language.

“It is the innate right of all Nepalis to seek their own nationalities in the country the live in,” states a press release. “None of Nepali people including Madhesis are thus ready to compromise on this.”

The statement urged all political parties to help find a peaceful outlet to the row over Vice President´s oath by amending constitution to guarantee oath taking in mother tongues.

The students´ body has also announced to submit memorandum to the chiefs of all political parties and Constituent Assembly Chairman Subash Nembang.
