KATHMANDU, Nov 10: Former Prime Minister and Nepal Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala will be flown abroad for further treatment only after his health condition improves, doctors said. [break]
Doctors involved in Koirala´s treatment made the decision after Koirala´s health condition remained ´critical but stable´ throughout Tuesday. They had held a meeting to assess whether Koirala´s health condition will allow five-hour journey to Singapore.
The octogenarian leader was admitted at Martyr Gangalal Heart Center, Bansbari, after he had respiratory problem Tuesday morning. Doctors said Koirala experienced acute shortage of oxygen in his blood as his lungs did not function properly.

Koirala was given oxygen at the Hospital.
Earlier, Koirala´s family had made a plan to fly him to Singapore for further treatment on Wednesday.
Dr Man Bahadur KC, Dr Arun Maskey, Dr Yadav Dev Bhatta, Dr Rabi Malla, Dr Diwakar Sharma and Koirala´s personal physicians Dr Arjun Karki and Dr Jagadish Agrawal are involved in his treatment.

Talking to media persons, Dr Maskey said Koirala is suffering from lung infection coupled with pneumonia, resulting in respiratory problem. “His health has shown gradual improvement after he was given oxygen,” said Maskey.
Maskey said they are conducting various tests on Koirala. “We have initiated all methods of treatment as per the findings through the tests,” he added.
