As part of the survey, the academy would provide free health check-up for locals, said Shyam Lamsal, registrar at the academy. There are five districts -- Dolpa, Humla, Jumla, Kalikot and Mugu - in Karnali zone.
“We will provide free health check-up to around 5,000 locals from all the five districts.
We will also prepare a three-year health plan for the zone after the survey.” He added that the academy has already launched health survey in 10 VDCs of Jumla.
Lamsal said the number of outdoor patients visiting the hospital has increased in recent days. He said the academy also plans to depute two mobile doctors to each of the remote districts from the next year.
Likewise, the academy is all set to introduce nursing programs for the first time in Karnali Zone. Lamsal said the program would start after the academy acquires permission from Nepal Nursing Council.
