Jailbird shot dead

DAMAULI, April 9: A jailbird who was trying to flee from Tanahun jain on Thursday night was shot dead by the police.



Pritam Bista of Barbhanjyang VDC, who was serving jail term on charge of raping a seven-year-old girl, was killed in the incident, according to DSP Ishwari Chapagain. He was shot dead after he did not pay heed to police warning to stop from fleeing.



Meanwhile, a four-member committee has been formed under chairmanship of Assistant Chief District Officer Thaman Singh Thapa to probe into the incident.
