“ITEC 2012-2013 has been categorized into two types in terms of duration of the scholarship. While the scholarship duration for technical fields is four months, non-technical fields are of 10 weeks,” informed Avash Karmacharya, press and political officer at the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.

Basic knowledge of English is also required, and an applicant can’t apply for more than one course.
ITEC was first started in Nepal in 2000 when it was awarded to 12 participants. Over the years, the number of seats allocated to Nepal has increased to 100 in 2011.
