Inferno engulfs two houses

GAUSHALA, Feb 7: A massive fire engulfed a grocery of Bijaya Yadav and a gas dealer shop of Krishna Yadav at Ghamaura-4 in Mahottari district at around 2.00 PM last night, said the Mahottari District Police Office.



The fire gutted two houses including some gas cylinders, a laptop and other valuable goods. [break]



Total loss incurred by the fire is estimated to be around one million rupees, said DSP Kushal Purus Dhakal.



According to a victim, the fire broke out due to short circuit at a time when the shops were closed.



Locals and Nepal Police took the fire under control.
