KATHMANDU, June 30: Global mobility and delivery platform inDrive has launched a safe driving online course in Nepal, aiming to improve road safety awareness among its driver partners.

According to a press release issued by inDrive Nepal, the mobile-friendly course is designed to provide drivers with practical knowledge and confidence to handle rides safely. The company said the course is already available online, with several drivers having completed it, and aims to reach more than 100,000 inDrive drivers across Nepal.

The company said the 20-minute course has been developed considering the busy schedules of driver partners and focuses on practical safety measures.

The training is divided into three sections: on-platform safety and professional boundaries, road safety essentials for ride-hailing, and emergency response, reporting and use of the in-app SOS feature, according to the press release.

The course includes short instructional videos followed by comprehension questions. Drivers are required to score at least 80 percent across all modules to receive a course completion certificate, while those who fail the assessment can retake the quiz, the company said.

“Safety of driver partners and passengers is not an afterthought; it is a cornerstone of the platform’s operating values,” inDrive said in the statement, adding that the initiative aims to provide practical safety training for both drivers and passengers.

Sunita Jeemi Rai, senior driver operations specialist at inDrive Nepal, said the course is aimed at helping drivers feel confident and prepared in different situations they may encounter on the road.

“We want our drivers to feel confident, prepared and supported, not just on the app, but in every situation they might face on the road,” Rai said.

The company said the initiative is expected to strengthen personal safety awareness, risk management skills and drivers’ ability to respond to difficult situations.

The safe driving course is available through the official platform at www.indrivesafetycourse.com.

inDrive said its app has been downloaded more than 400 million times and operates in over 1,100 cities across 48 countries.
