The SSB personnel had on Wednesday seized Rs. 240 thousand in Indian currency when the two Nepali migrant workers were entering Nepal through local Gaddachauki checkpoint on the Nepal-India border. They also detained them saying that they were not allowed to take Indian currency notes of Rs. 500 and 1,000 denominations.[break]
The SSB border guards seized the money from Karan BC and Amar Pun of Baliya, Kailali district. They were later released on the condition that they will not take the IC notes with them but remit the amount to a bank in Nepal.
First Vice-president of Kanchanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Janga Bahadur Malla, negotiated their release, it is learnt.
