Indian customs staffers seize food from Nepalis

GADDACHAUKI, Mahendranagar, Feb 8: There is tension at the Nepal-India border here after Indian customs staffers in Banbasa started seizing household items from Nepalis since Sunday morning.



The locals have been protesting after Indian customs staffers started confiscating their household food items including rice, pulse and sugar bought at the Indian market across the border.



The customs staffers started seizing such items at Banbasa bridge since Saturday morning. Nepali shoppers are forced to return empty-handed.
