God. What does this word mean to you? Do you believe that He is your creator? Or is He someone that you yourself created??I have always been a believer, but rather than believing in someone who is either dead or lost, I believe in myself and other human beings. Rather than seeing God in statues and pictures, I see Him in people. I see a god in my mother, I see a god in the beggar sitting right outside the temples. But no one worships the living. Instead, a stone is being worshipped all over the world- a stone without any emotion and life in it. This is the folly of human beings. We don't care to see the truth right in front of us, but we believe in a lie that we created ourselves. If God is watching over us then surely there wouldn't be any hungry and half-clothed beggars right outside His temple. I don't think a single temple is free of beggars. Temples also have their share of poor small children loitering around who never get to have a good meal and warm clothes. No one ever bothers to give some food to the beggars outside. But a statue is swamped with a lot of donations and food items that are bound to get wasted. If the devotee cares enough to provide some food to a beggar instead of the statue inside the temple, s/he will be like god to the poor person.
In my opinion, human beings created God so that we have someone to look up to and place all our hopes on. We desire to have our wishes magically fulfilled and we don't want to work hard or fulfill our duties because God will do that for us!
I don't see why people are so dependent on God. He is called upon for each and every work that is to be done. If a student wants to pass in the exam or if a businessman wants to earn much more money, God is invoked. Even the beggar that is discarded right outside god's temple is dependent on Him for food and clothes. If someone gives him some food then he wishes that the person be blessed by God.
If God was real and was really our creator then do you think He would need your food and money? He is the Almighty- do you really believe that He is hungry for food and if you appease His hunger then your wish will be granted? He does not need your food or your money. He is rich in every way. He does not need your golden temples. The whole world is His home, His to live and do as He wishes.
I am not implying that there is no God or that there never was one. I believe that there were many gods way before our time. But like everything that begins comes to an end, God also met His end. God was our creator and like every creator He also had to die. Our creator is no more with us so we, the creation, must fulfill the reason for which we were created. We have been gifted by our creator with the most precious planet to reside in so please keep his legacy running.
After reading this article, if you still believe in the continuous existence of our creator then do something to make Him proud. Do something that He would have done for your brothers and sisters. Be someone great like Him. Help others like He would surely have done. Become a god yourself and let the future generation tell magnificent stories about you.
