“Dancing is my life,” she declares and that’s what keeps her sane in otherwise insane times; her passion was probably what led her to win Miss Talent. Let’s get to know the person behind the title, in conversation with Lama.[break]
Republica Miss Teen Nepal
It’s always been my dream to participate in the pageant, and you know what, dreams really do come true! (Smiles) I’m super excited about the future. All those dreams I dreamt, I can see them coming true, unfolding. I want to get into media, maybe VJ-ing, and would love to try my hands at music videos.
After Miss Teen…

Nothing much special, actually. After the grueling Republica Miss Teen pageant, I’m relishing the luxury of just being me. College has resumed, catching up with friends, having fun. Life’s good.
Kreety’s hidden sides
Many don’t know I’m a closet bathroom singer. All my friends tell me I have a really bad voice but I love to hum a tune, anyway. Hmmm, what else? Yes, I’m a big-time tomboy. I may look prim and proper, makeup on, high heels but believe me, I’m anything but a girly girl. Once I’m at home, I come across as a completely different person. I flip a switch in my brain or something, and I’m Kreety the tomboy.
Beauty pageants not walk in the park!
It’s not easy, let me tell you that. There were times when we used to get so exhausted – 16 days of grueling sessions without any breaks. But in the end, it’s all worth it. You should be prepared to slug it out, and most importantly, have that self-belief, and trust your instincts. The scariest part was definitely the Q&A session. Even after days of practice, we were really nervous on the final day. I won’t deny luck plays a part, it is part preparation, part chance but whatever you answer, you need to be confident. Like I said, self-belief is your biggest asset. Erm, I thought my answer in the top ten was kind of okay, but the one I managed to produce in the top five really was my best. It must be, for here I’m your Miss Teen Nepal 2010. (Laughs)
Interest in media
I’ve always been drawn to the creative aspect of media; music videos, movies, everything fascinated me. I have huge respect for actors and maybe, someday, I might dabble into acting myself. I’m keeping my options open. But I’m not taking part in any reality shows. Err… not my cup of tea.
Time management
I want to be a chartered accountant but I’m very much interested in media. I’m sure I can juggle two worlds. It’s all about time management. And I’m told that I’m good at it (smiles). I’ve always been punctual and I don’t see why I can’t find the perfect symbiosis between two different worlds.
I know as a teenager, there are so many things you want to try. But have a very positive attitude. If you have that self-belief, then I guess things will follow.
A word that best describes me
My current state of mind is “happy”, but if I have to pick one word that personifies me than I would have to go for “dreamer”. I dream a lot (smiles). But I dream and make myself believe that “Yes! I can make that dream come true.” Being Miss Teen was one such dream I’ve had since I was 13.
Five years down the line…
I don’t know what the future holds. But whatever I’ll be doing, I’ll make sure it’s something that’ll make me happy. A chartered accountant involved in media, perhaps. I’m a big time supporter of beauty pageants and the many avenues it opens for women. I’ll be advocating for the platform and the opportunities it provides. As a Republica Miss Teen Nepal, I would like to raise the bar and prove we’re serious about our title and the responsibility that comes along with it.
