The board meeting led by Education Minister Dinanath Sharma decided to give retirement to staffers seeking voluntary retirement offering them additional salary for a maximum of four years, said HESB Spokesperson Narayan Koirala. [break]
He added that the policy had been introduced on staffer´s demand and would continue in future. "HSEB has already established a Voluntary Retirement Fund of Rs 220 million," said Koirala.
Though over 100 staffers currently working with the board are eligible for voluntary retirement, officials who have a few years left for compulsory retirement are also expected to apply, said Dhal Bahadur Khadka, administration chief of HSEB.
“The offer is beneficial for employees retiring in one or two years,” said Khadka. HSEB plans to spend Rs 70 million for this purpose in the first phase. The board will issue an official notice regarding the issue on Sunday.
