Prime Minister Sushil Koirala in a televised address to the nation on Tuesday has said the government's first priority is to search, rescue and save the lives and belongs of the people hit by the disaster.
He urged all friendly nations, development partners and all Nepali citizens staying in and outside the country for continuous support during the reconstruction and rehabilitation stage to begin soon.
He said that the government has made arrangements of free health facilities to those who were injured in the earthquake.
He said the government will gradually reconstruct the structures with historic, archeological, cultural and religious importance that were destroyed in the earthquake.
The prime minister appreciated heads of states and governments of various countries who supported Nepal during these difficult hours.
He thanked the prime minister of India, the president of China, Pakistan's prime minister, president of Sri Lanka and the King of Bhutan, among others.
He said the government has got offer of support from various countries including Bangladesh, the United States of America, Britain, France, Norway, Japan, Finland, Australia, Malaysia, Israel, Turkey, Poland, South Korea, Arab countries, and some development partners including the United Nations, the World Bank and the Asian Development bank.
