Man Frit, who had reached Sauraha on Thursday purportedly to observe Elephant Race Tournament, was arrested by the police from View Park Hotel of Sauraha Friday night. [break]The police team, headed by inspector Debendra Pal, arrested Frit at around 10 pm from the hotel room along with the 13-year old boy. Frit is in police custody for investigation, said Inspector Pal.
The police have also seized a camera, video tape and memory card from Frit´s hotel room.
“On the basis of statement given by the 13-year-old and materials found from Fret´s room, we will take necessary action against Frit,” said Dipak Kumar Thapa, chief of the Chitwan DPO.
However, Frit denied having molested the boy.
According to Dambar KC, the hotel operator, “We heard a boy crying from the room hired by Man Frit. When we went to see what had happened a terror-stricken naked boy came out of the room, while we also found the German national naked inside the room.”
“Though he had been seen roaming around with young boys in Sauraha over the past few days, he hadn´t brought them to the hotel before” added KC.
Abhinash, a fifth grade student, had befriended the German national at the function organized to inaugurate the International Elephant race.
“He first took me to a restaurant. Then he took me to the hotel. He asked me to put off my clothes, while he stood naked. When I refused he tried to use force,” said Abhinash.
Man Frit had arrived in Sauraha from Kathmandu last Thursday. He had met a tourist guide Bijay Lama and had asked him to find a hotel and a child. “He asked me to look for a young boy instead of asking me to take him for a tour,” said Bijay Lama.
Locals of Sauraha have demanded strict punishment to the offender.
