Fringe parties support NC for deferral

KATHMANDU, Jan 12: Nepali Congress (NC) on Wednesday afternoon persuaded 17 fringe parties to support in its bid to defer the 17th round of prime ministerial election for a day.



According to Prakash Chandra Lohani, the co-president of Rastriya Janashakti Party, the fringe parties agreed to NC proposal in a hope of an ´agreement between top parties for government formation´.



Earlier, a meeting of 17 fringe parties on Wednesday asked Nepali Congress (NC) to withdraw Ram Chandra Poudel’s prime ministerial candidacy.



According to CP Mainali of NCP (ML), the parties also decided to continue the leftist-alliance during the ongoing political process.
