Coach injured…by ball
Machhindra coach Dhruba KC sustained injuries to his nose in the match against Ranipokhari Corner Team. He was hit by the ball kicked by his own player Naresh KC. Coach KC who was at the coach-line directing player KC to clear the ball became the victim of a powerful strike that broke his spectacle into pieces.“The ball came like a bullet, I didn´t even see the ball coming,” reacted the poor coach. Three days later, KC said that he was even unable to eat well. “I have been eating biscuits dipped in milk,” he told the media.
Our advice: Either treat your eyesight or tell players not to hit the ball hard.

Mishra´s search for Europeans
Friends Club coach Mrigendra Mishra always seemed eager to bring in foreign players. He “almost toured the whole Europe” searching for footballers. In their first match, Mishra said he was awaiting the arrival of two Hungarian footballers with whom they were corresponding and the deal was almost struck. After a few games, he told the media: “They did not get International Transfer Clearance.”
He then rooted for German players, whom he could not bring in. Finally, he is now looking for Indian players from Manipur.
Our verdict: Mishra´s enthusiasm for bringing foreign players is salute-worthy.

Katawal´s title dream
Boys Union registered their first win after coach Kumar Katawal took the charge from their fourth match. Katawal, who returned from the UK after learning coaching, was so enthusiastic after the victory that he said: “My target is to come at the top five spot; however, if we win title it will be no surprise.”
Since then, Boys Union have not won any match and are at the bottom of the table with five points.
Our verdict: Overconfident coach commented too early without adjudging the strength of other teams.

“No brains”
Armed Police Force (APF) lost 3-0 to less fancied Jawalakhel Youth Club prompting their coach Maheshwar Mulmi to tell the media, during the post-match press conference, that ´police do not have brains.´
Captain Kumar Thapa echoed almost similar voice: “Police lack footballing sense.”
Our say: If you two, hired by APF, say so, we are bound to believe. But we don´t like the words and tone.
