BHAIRAHAWA, Jan 1: Flights to and from the Gautam Buddha Airport in Bhairahawa have been affected for the last three days due to dense fog in the atmosphere.

According to Civil Aviation Office in Bhairahawa, planes could not take off from and land at the airport because of poor visibility. It needs visibility of at least 1,500 meters for normal flight operation.

Buddha, Yeti and Agni Airlines operate three, two and one flights each to the airport, respectively, everyday.

"We have returned tickets to the passengers after failing to operate the flights," said Ajun Pradhan, local station in-charge of Yeti Air.
