The fire that suddenly engulfed the houses turned the gold, silver, clothes, utensils and other valuables to ashes, said fire victim Sandesh Kulung Rai.
A huge loss was incurred when fire was not taken under control due to delay arrival of fire engine, Rai further said.
The fire engine, which was called immediately after the fire outbreak at around 11.00 pm, arrived only at 1.00 am, it is learnt.
