Bijay Prajapati, director CGNN, informed that the main intention of showing the films was to raise the issues relevant to environment so as to create awareness among people.
“Throughout the year, we organize various programs and projects. But against the backdrop of the Environment Day, we wanted to do something different. So we came up with the idea of movie screening,” he added.
On June 3, the documentary film “An Inconvenient Truth” was screened.
The 2006 documentary film directed by Davis Guggenheim is about former United States Vice President Al Gore’s campaign to educate citizens about global warming via an inclusive slide show.
On June 4, “Addicted to Plastic” was screened which is about the worldwide effects on public health by the use of plastic. It also shows how plastic is causing havocs in polluting the oceans and what can we do to avoid it.
On June 5, “The Age of Stupid” was screened. This is a movie about a man living alone in the devastated world of 2055, watching archive footage from the mid-to-late-2000s and raising the issues of why we didn’t stop climate change when we had the opportunity.
The movie also raises issues of deforestation and other environmental hazard.
