According to ranger at the Park, Bishnu Thapaliya, a female elephant was released at the area as the radio colour signal indicated that the wild elephant was in western part from the Park. [break]
He added the technology was adopted as it will make easy to capture the elephant.
Meanwhile, Chitwan-based political parties have also been agitated, saying that the park management failed to take the wild elephant under control and demand of locals of Madi was not addressed.
The UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal, Rastriya Janamorcha,among others have participated in the agitation.
The political parties here have called the Chitwan Banda from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm today and also organised an- hour chakkajam on Tuesday evening.
Whereas, locals of Madi have been more agitated saying the Park was failed to come up with a durable solution to the elephant rampage.
A clash had taken place between locals and police personnel on Tuesday evening after a group in the agitation started vandalizing police office, VDC office and buffer- zone being aggressive, according to the District Police Office.
Police had fired three cells of teargas to take the situation under control. A large number of police have been deployed at the area to avert untoward incident.
Normal life in Chitwan district has been affected for the past four days due to agitation launched by locals, demanding that wild elephant be killed. The same elephant had killed an elderly couple at Madi on Saturday night.
