End internal disputes for power: NC leaders

KATHMANDU, Aug 6: Leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC) urged the party leaders to move ahead for writing the statute as per the public desire to bring the sustainable peace in the country rather than making internal dispute for power.



Speaking at an interaction organized by BP Koirala Literature and Study Foundation, Nepal in the Capital on Saturday the leaders should work having pioneer role to write statute as per the public desire discussing the party´s leading roles in the different democratic movement.[break]



They said it is the first and foremost need of the country to protect the achievements received from the Nepali people´s movements while the nation is practicing the federal democratic republic. The leaders should not encourage the internal conflict just for power.



"It is not the time to change Parliamentary Party leader,” the leaders participated in the interaction said. "The main issue of the time is peace and statute drafting that all leaders should be united and move ahead to take the peace into logical conclusion and promulgate statute."



NC central member Dilendra Badu said the leaders should center their activities for promulgating the draft of the statute within August 31 concluding the main issues for the peace process.



NC leader Krishna Chandra Nepali said the present need of the country is to finalize the disputed issues appeared during the statute drafting process creating consensus among the political parties as all desires peace and statute in the country.



NC central member Dilli Raj Regmi, lawmakers Usha Gurung, Dudh Kumari Dahal, Hira Gurung, Nepal Students Union former Chairman Guru Ghimire including others participated in the interaction.
